Daniel recently played a supporting role as a pill-snorting party boy in LA for the feature film AN AMERICAN IN HOLLYWOOD. This is Sai Veradan's first feature film, coming off his successful short film focused on graffiti called GOD'S HAND. The short debuted at the world famous Tribeca Film Festival, and the new feature is currently shooting in Los Angeles and New York. Click here for more information on the V-Twinz production company.

Check out this great trailer for THE HUMAN WAR, and independent drama currently in the festival circuit. In this film Daniel plays Louis, a young man from the ghetto who works a short order cook in Youngstown, Ohio, but has pipe dreams of becoming a hip-hop producer like all his idols. He believes his best friend Carl will take them there through Wall Street and financial investments. Louis is the Flavor Flav type of hypeman to Carl's Chuck D leadership.

Shoplifting From American Apparel shot in Ohio & New York

Portraying a drug dealer in a holding cell for the "cinematic" scene of this movie-within-a-movie style film, Daniel Genalo helps bring another novel to life in its film incarnation. Following last year's Ohio-based film THE HUMAN WAR, Pirooz Kalayeh and Sangha Films have done it again with their adaptation of Tao Lin's cult classic novel SHOPLIFTING FROM AMERICAN APPAREL. The film was shot in the areas of Los Angeles, Cleveland and New York City. Daniel plays his scene as a threatening drug dealer who gets pushed by a drunken inmate. Below is a trailer for the film.

Daniel hosts the SIMS REPORT as Investigative Journalist

Mr. Genalo portrays Investigative Journalist and Field Reporter Rick Sims in a four webisode series promoting a new headphone cord management product called The Sinch. The character is a cross between the crazy Daily Show correspondent types and the real tough-as-nails investigative journalists like Geraldo Rivera's classic work. In the episodes Daniel, as Rick Sims, challenges the "infamous" table tennis champ Wally Green at SPiN New York, described by Rick as "the hottest table tennis spot on the planet!" Happy New Year and Happy Festival Season!

Daniel plays a young guy from a low income, somewhat dangerous section of Youngstown, Ohio in "The Human War." The character Louis is a child of the hip-hop generation, with all its mannerisms and speech qualities. Daniel provides comedic relief and a driving force of compassion in this philosophical tale based on the Odyssey, and in turn, Noah Cicero's novel of the same name. The film has already been accepted into the Appalachian film festival, with more to come soon.

The man of many accents and voices has done it again. Daniel Genalo worked at a live event for UK fashion brand Ted Baker with agency Laforce Stevens. Daniel played a Cockneyed moving man in the meatpacking district of NYC. Ted Baker celebrated it's grand opening of its second store in New York with a team of moving men, all donning Bowler hats and classic meatpacking coats. Daniel and the team had plenty of fun playing out scenes promoting this hip and unconventional English label!

Daniel has begun an ongoing relationship with Animated Storyboards, an animation production company that focuses on development of major brand commercials. Through his experience with both dance and acting, Mr. Genalo has proven to be a versatile and efficient MoCap performer, as he is able to physically mimic anything from a kangaroo's bounce to an excited child and an elder woman's walk. Daniel is really excited to gain this experience and get involved in the creative process through movement!

"Nocturnal After Hours" is complete! This feature stars Daniel Joseph Genalo as Brooklyn club DJ Caesar, who is working his way up in the club and rave circuit. Daniel also performed duties as Assistant Director and Producer on the film, with Cannes' veteran and multiple award winning filmmaker David Mejias. The film is being submitted to various festivals again, including Cannes and the NY Independent Film & Video Festival, where Writer/Director Mejias screened and won several awards for his prior film. Daniel is thrilled to have played such a big role as lead actor, as well as getting back into his direction experience.

Mr. Genalo portrayed Jax Manzi, the nurse's aide-by-day and rocker-by-night lead in an ensemble cast. The series was produced by LanguageMate, as an edutainment type of piece for Hospital workers attempting to improve their English. DARKHORSE. The film is the newest comedy from Writer/Director Todd Solondz, an acclaimed illuminator of the sad underbelly of contemporary American society. Mr. Genalo plays an innocent young hip-hop dancer at a lively wedding reception!

Daniel read a variety of characters in a public reading of Laura Fay Lewis' screenplay, "The Empty-Handed Painter." Beginning with a successful young painter named Dylan, Mr. Genalo transformed into a starstruck young art student, an excitable museum security guard, a tough guy bodyguard, a sleepy jewish neighbor and a beautiful, young Italian boy named Tommasino. The reading is part of a workshop series of the story and its audience, with this reading being the first performance at The Actor's Studio.

Mr. Genalo hosted a live event as part of Food Network's NYC Wine & Food Festival. The event promotes a new season of The Next Iron Chef, with its high-energy host Mark Dacascos (AKA The Chairman). Ironically, Dacascos first introduced himself to Daniel Genalo on the set of the 1998 feature "No Code of Conduct." The film was Daniel Genalo's first movie, where he wowed co-stars Charlie Sheen and Mark Dacascos with slick dances moves. Funny how small "the business" really is.

The top German television network ZDF produced three movies in the New York and tri-state area this summer. The final film in the series features a love story between an odd couple David  (Hendrik Duryn) and Polly (Rike Schmid). While they both love boats, not much else seems to work between them at first. Daniel Genalo portrays the role of young Martin, the first mate and yacht steward to Mr. David Locking.

The distinguished gentleman from Iowa performed his most challenging acting role yet today, as he portrayed the love and affection of a puppy anticipating his owner's return home. Mr. Genalo performed a dual role, both as a loving puppy at the window, as well as a kitten batting at its catnip toy. This dual role was part of an online ad campaign for the vet school at St. George's University. Stay tuned for links and more information upon completion!

In the short film "Contretemps," Daniel portrays Jeremiah, a young dance student having his first gay experience at University. Daniel learned choreography for a ballet Barre combination for the role, and played an intense breakup scene during a Ballet class warmup. This was the most technically challenging work to date for Mr. Genalo, as the precise, choreographed movements coincided to the second with the timing of intense emotional lines.

Music resource website www.muuseme.com enlisted Daniel Genalo's talents in their latest web offering. Mr. Genalo played a variety of musicians in eight different archetypical band styles, including Glam Rock, Bossa Nova and Mariachi. The web spot is a comedic take on the various cliches associated with different styles of music, and is intended to be a tongue-in-cheek, improv-driven piece. Needless to say, Daniel was well cast for this and laughed so hard he started tearing up at one point.
